The FR Road Bike
If you’re looking for the best-handling, fastest-climbing, smoothest-riding road racing bike in the world, you’ve found it. The FR represents one-half of the ideal union between bike and rider. Free of excess, it was painstakingly and obsessively honed for the needs of the most committed road cyclists to win battles of will, attrition, and tactics on any racecourse. Starting with a clean sheet of paper, our engineers designed the FR from the ground up, resulting in a pure road bike with impeccable handling and a precision-tuned chassis. This ensures riders are fresh for a finish line sprint after a long day in the saddle. Lighter and stiffer than any other bike that’s emerged from our history of innovation, the FR climbs like an angel and descends like a dream. When you strip away unnecessary indulgences and gimmicks, all that is left is pure performance embodied in a bike that is an extension of you.
FR | Advanced | Ultegra
Lightweight for the climbs, stiff for the sprints, and handles like a dream for flying down the mountain. It is built with mechanical shifting for a uniquely tactile riding experience.
- Hydraulic disc brakes
- Shimano Ultegra mechanical groupset

FR Features
Performance Honed Chassis
Every tube shape on the FR was meticulously theorized, modeled, and tested to achieve the optimal performance characteristics demanded by cycling’s top athletes and the ride quality revered by riders worldwide. From its asymmetrical chainstays crafted to precisely balance the rider’s pedaling forces with the inherent effects of a drivetrain to its rear triangle and fork developed to mitigate road chatter to reduce rider fatigue, every millimeter of the FR frameset was finely sculpted in excruciating detail. Featuring the most straight layups in our history and TeXtreme carbon fiber, the FRD, Advanced, and Performance iterations of the FR set a new standard for lightweight road bikes. The aluminum version is no slouch, featuring a SuperLite aluminum frame paired with an Advanced-level carbon fork. The FR embodies the following function more than any other road bike in Felt’s history.
Disc Brakes & Thru-Axles
Disc brakes are the new standard in road bike technology, providing increased stopping power, enhanced modulation, and better performance in adverse weather conditions and ideal riding conditions compared to rim brakes. For racers and performance-focused riders, disc brakes also improve handling and overall control, which allows you to carry speed through turns for a more fluid riding experience. Disc brakes provide numerous benefits over traditional rim caliper brakes regardless of age, fitness level, body size, or even where you ride. Available on select FR models.
Modern Road Race Geometry
Felt’s flagship road race bike has always been defined by an aggressive geometry that exceeds the demands of the world’s fastest and most technically demanding racecourses. Head and seat angles honed from decades of feedback from the world’s top professional racers ensure that the FR possesses the most intuitive handling available while at the same time providing a stable ride quality. And because an efficient rider is a powerful rider, the FR’s geometry is optimized to suit the fit needs of nearly all riders. This empowers every rider to achieve their most efficient position without wasting watts.

- Weight Disclaimer: The most accurate way to determine a product’s weight is to have your local dealer weigh it. Because we understand that weight is an important metric, we strive to list it when possible. When recorded, weight is based on a sample in a specific size and with all items, as shown in the photo. It is not an exact indication of what your bike or frame will weigh, as there are tolerances in many variables involved (size, finish, hardware, components, and accessories). Felt continues to be an industry leader in weight and performance.
